Fine sea sand (quartz sand) as a base for incense charcoal tablets when burning loose incense (as insulation against the heat). With real sea sand and shells.
The fire sand is mixed with real sea sand from the beaches of the Sette Lidi in the area of Ferrara in Italy. The pack also contains one or two shells from the beaches in this region.
This fire sand unites all elements in the incense ritual by bringing in the missing element of water in the form of sea sand and symbolically through the shells (coal = fire, incense = earth, smoke = air).
Incense bowls filled with sand can also be used very well as holders for incense sticks and incense cones.
