Only a few artists in the genre of spiritual chant music possess the skill to authentically mix instruments and musical influences from asian and western traditions in such a way as Krishna Das does it. With his CD Door of Faith, Krishna Das achieves a unique level of intimacy and pureness that he has never reached before. Going back to the roots, before he started emphasizing on his well known call-and-answer Kirtans, Door of Faith features original compositions, Sanskrit chants and prayers primarily sung by him alone, with backing on Harmonium, Esraj, Cello, Organ, Trumpet and Violin.

These chants have been amongst the first that Krishna Das came across on his first travels to India and they carry a very private, personal and utterly sacred space. The Chant Mere Guru Dev is a duet featuring Krishna Das and his daughter – a real gem on this CD. Other chants, such as Mata Durga call with wisdom on our inner solace, light and trust in order help you find again the gratitude that all things will come to you of you only have trust and patience. Door of Faith is certainly one of the most personal and intimate CD's that Krishna Das has ever produced.
