With her album Adhara, Nirinjan Kaur has created an incredible collection of rich, powerful and deeply moving Kundalini chants, Gurbani Kirtan and devotional songs wrapped in layers of cello, acoustic guitar, bansuri flute, sarangi, sitara, nyckelharpa, tablas and more.

Masterfully produced by Hans Christian, and with a stellar cast of musicians including GuruGanesha Singh, Manish Vyas, Hans Christian, John Wubbenhorst and Victor DeLorenzo, this album is not only a sacred journey but also a musical masterpiece which can be used for yoga, meditation and chanting along, as well as it is great fun just to listen to.

What we like very much are Nirinjan Kaurs versions of the almost forgotten musical treasures Trasure of Bliss - a wonderful song originally written by Mata Mandir Singh, the powerful Shabd Har Singh Nar Singh, and the deeply moving version of Livtar Singhs devoted Hymn Heal Me.
Along with the other wonderful pieces, Nirinjan Kaur jumps into our list of top-favourites!

Tracks:

  • Jai Te Gang (8:40)
  • Triple Mantra (8:35)
  • Treasure of Bliss (6:51)
  • Aap Sahaaee Hoaa (8:35)
  • Re Man (11:46)
  • Har Singh Nar Singh (6:52)
  • Heal Me (6:58)
  • Kaval Nain (6:29)

Nirinjan Kaur was born in Vancouver, B.C. to a Kundalini Yoga practicing, Sikh family. With two musical parents, she found her love for singing at an early age. Her father still tells stories of how Nirinjan could be heard singing her heart out to her favorite songs, whether they were in the car going to school, or just playing around the house.
She became a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher already at the age of 13. Sacred chanting goes hand in hand with both the Yoga- and the Sikh Dharma-tradition, and Nirinjan quickly found a merging of two loves: spirituality and singing.

When she was 15, she began attending Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar, India. While in high school there, she studied Classical Indian Music with a focus on Gurbani Kirtan (sacred Sikh singing) with a master, Ustaad Narinder Singh Sandhu. After 3 years, she graduated from Miri Piri Academy with newfound experiences of life, as well as of music and singing.
In the summer of 2007 her first album Aquarian Sadhana was released.
