Bonsai is a Japanese word meaning in pot or in tray ("Bon") and planted tree ("Sai"), which resembles a full sized tree. For many people bonsai soon becomes not just a hobby but a way of life, the tree almost demands your full attention and so it leads you to complete peace of mind, thought and body, just as it did thousands of years ago for the Buddhist monks. Bonsai is a living art form, with much history and changing of styles. There has been some written evidence found dating back to the fang dynasty (A.D. 618 - 906).

Although it remains controversial it is thought to have originated in china (known there as pun-sai or pen-jing) remaining with Buddhist monks in and around the temples, possibly crossing over to Japan at around 1195 A.D. There appears to be some reference to this in Japanese scrolls. Whether you like or dislike the art, with this much history it cannot be ignored…

Maybe the Bonsai really has attained what the human seeks - immortality.
The music on Bonsai Garden follows this path: relaxing soundscapes with a Japanese touch lead you into a bonsi garen were stillness abides and peace of mind is attained. You become like a Bonsi gardener, focused, centered and with a view on the macro- as well as the micro-cosmos.
